On occasion of World Mental Health Week, Nityanand celebrated Manobal’s 2nd year on 8th October 2017. This year we hosted this public awareness program at Annabhau Sathe Sabhagruh. We witnessed great response of 450-500 audience. The program was inaugurated by ACP Mr. Milind Patil, Dr. Sandeep Parkhi and Dr. Mahesh Akhegaonkar.
In first session chief guest ACP, Cyber Security cell, Mr. Milind Patil gave talk on measures that are necessary to be taken while using social media. After this informative session, Dr. Nitin Dalaya delivered presentation on “Schizophrenia, it’s treatment and it’s confusing similarity with symptoms of Depression.” Dr. Dalaya elaborated usefulness of long term treatment for mental illnesses and role of rehabilitation in this process.
Second session was highlighted by sharing session of personal experiences of patient undergoing rehabilitation treatment at Nityanand and caregiver too. It inspired audience look at mental illnesses and treatment from a non-stigmatized manner. This session was followed by panel discussion.
We were fortunate to have panel of experts like Dr. Nitin Dalaya, Dr. Sandeep Parkhi, Dr. Mahesh Akhegaonkar, Usha Gokhale, Seema Gaikwad. Audience enthusiastically participated by sending many queries regarding how mental illnesses need to be handled in context of home and work environment, importance of medicines, skill development in patients etc.
On this occasion, the group therapy centers at Katraj and Pachane hosted exhibition of artifacts made by patients in process of recovery. Many purchased these artifacts as a part of encouragement.

On occasion of International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, Nityanand hosted a rally to educate masses regarding the widespread disaster of addiction. This rally was co-hosted with Pune Police and officials of Anti Narcotic Cell.
Slogans and street play by Nityanand’s staff emphasized that addiction is not a solution to stressful situations nor is it a recreation if it reaches severe level. Addiction is a Disorder and it demands rehabilitation treatment that consists of treatment for not only physical recovery but also guidance to train one’s thought, emotion and behavior in order to keep away from addictive substances.
On 2nd June 2017, Nityanand celebrates it’s 15th Foundation Day. This is the day when we wish to extend warm wishes to all people associated with us…
Nityanand started it’s journey on 2nd June 2002 with a small strength of 40 patients. Today we are fortunate to be able to extend our care to almost 350 patients and their care givers. Over 15 years we got chance to touch approximately 10000 lives.
We thank everyone who has been a part of this journey. Do participate in future activities.
On 24th May, Nityanand is organising an awareness event about “Schizophrenia” at its Pachane centre. It is open to all who wish to get information about ‘Schizophrenia’ from our team of experts.
On occasion of World Health Day, Nityanand has organized “Free Mental Wellness Checkup Camp”. 7th April 2017, 10am to 4pm, At both the branches of Nityanand.
